Coping with and overcoming stress
Stress can cause a large range of symptoms including headaches, racing heart, dizziness, a feeling of not being able to cope and muscular aches and pains. Although stress itself is not an illness, it can lead to you becoming ill if you do not address the symptoms early enough. Stress is an “invisible” condition and still has a lot of stigma attached to it, sometimes making it extremely difficult for us to admit that we are suffering from it. Many people still do not understand how it can affect people, and this can lead to us trying to hide symptoms, which ultimately can make it far worse.
The good thing is, there are lots of different things you can do to help you cope with stress, and to overcome it all together. Hypnotherapy and hypnosis will provide you with many different techniques and tools to help your thinking patterns and stop the cycle of worry and negativity that causes stress. It will also help you to relax and – going forward – show you how to relax and calm yourself in different situations. Your mind is very powerful which can be an amazing thing, but not so amazing if you are thinking the wrong thoughts. What we do in our sessions is help you to break that cycle and get you on to a brand new platform of positivity, moving you away from unhelpful and unnecessary thinking styles.
It can be extremely helpful just to have someone to talk to if you are suffering from stress, and also to write things down, such as where you were, who you were with and what you think might have triggered it. Writing things down can also release tension, enabling you to get certain thoughts out of your head and down onto paper.
With hypnotherapy and hypnosis, you won’t just be getting a short term fix; you will be adjusting and changing your thoughts, learning how to relax and keep your mind calm and breaking that chain of negativity that leads to the symptoms of stress.
