Help for depression in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.
Successful treatment for depression using hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
Feeling depressed and low can strike anybody from any walk of life, and can be caused by a range of different factors. Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are extremely effective in helping people suffering with depression.
People who experience these feelings to a severe level can feel persistently sad. They do not take pleasure in activities that were once enjoyable; they just cannot seem to get their head into a positive frame of mind.
The symptoms vary greatly from one individual to another but some common symptoms are:
- Loss of appetite
- Fatigue or loss of energy, feeling tired all the time
- Inability to concentrate
- Memory problems
- Feeling worthless, helpless, guilty or low self-esteem
- Feeling restless, just can’t settle their thoughts
- Suicidal thoughts
- Consistent feelings of sadness, loneliness or tension
- Feelings of desperation
- Lack of interest in any form of activity
- Fatigue or loss of energy
- Inability to sleep at night, or sleeping for too long
If long-term depression is not treated it can develop into a severe state known as melancholy.
Depression can cause you to feel as though you are trapped in your own mind, and even in this day and age there is still a huge misconception around mental illnesses. Because the symptoms aren’t visible and it’s not a physical illness, some people think you will just “snap out of it” after a while, but if you suffer from depression, you will know that it’s just not that simple. You haven’t chosen to feel this way, so it can be extremely frustrating for you; everything may just feel like a chore, as though you are just “going through the motions”. It can have a hugely negative impact on relationships, work, hobbies and even on your children, as they will pick up that you are not yourself.
What treatment is available?
There are two ways to help to treat deep routed problems related to depression, the first one being Hypno-analysis (analytical hypnotherapy) which is in essence cause and effect therapy and can be very effective in helping to treat depression. Once the bottled up emotions are released then the symptoms can cease to be, allowing you to be free from your past problems.
Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are ways of dealing with depression in the long term, learning techniques and new ways of thinking that can be used for the rest of your life. It is a natural way of treating your symptoms, enabling you to feel free from the constraints of depression which will ultimately allow you to have a happier and more successful life.
