Professional hypnotherapist Robert Clarke
Hypnotherapy & hypnosis in Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset.
Hypnosis has been used for thousands of years; indeed there is evidence that the Romans and Ancient Greeks were using hypnosis for therapeutic benefit. The state of hypnosis is a natural phenomenon and the feelings that best described when you are in a state of hypnosis are ones of being very relaxed and calm with a heightened awareness.
The heightened awareness is used to give new positive and beneficial suggestions such as “you are now a non-smoker”.
Hypnotherapy has nothing to do with stage hypnosis used in entertainment. You will always be in complete control. As already stated the form of hypnosis used here is very gentle and relaxing, and you will find that you are still very aware of what is going on around you at all times.
Two major benefits of Hypnotherapy are that it is drug free and is also usually concluded in a short period of time.
There are two main types of therapy:
Suggestion therapy (Clinical hypnosis) is suitable for problems such as stopping smoking, exam nerves, lack of confidence, weight loss, relaxation etc
Analytical therapy also known as hypnoanalysis (or regression therapy) is used to discover the causes of emotional problems, such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and certain weight issues. Analytical therapy (hypno-Analysis) can be defined as cause and effect.
By finding and removing the root cause of the problem then the effect or symptoms can be resolved.

I am so glad I found the courage to phone you and make an appointment – I am not exaggerating when I say that you have changed my life. I feel there is so much I can achieve and you have helped me to let go of the past so that I can move on and stop wasting time with all those ‘what ifs’. Claire 2009
